Gwendolyn Collao
Supervised Therapist
I am a mental health therapist who counsels from a trauma informed and client centered perspective. I am able to offer therapy in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
My goal in my work with adults, parents, and families is to help you identify and change unhelpful patterns and beliefs that are holding you back, and to support you to build a life in which your daily rhythms are anchored in your strengths.
I use child-centered play in my work with children of all ages to address behavioral concerns, grief/loss, and traumatic experiences. I emphasize collaboration with caregivers to enhance caregiver-child attachment, bringing the healing benefits of play therapy into the home.
Additionally, I am trained to help individuals resolve trauma through EMDR. I am especially passionate about helping parents and caregivers who desire to heal their own attachment wounds in order to parent from a place of strength and security.
I believe that everyone has the potential to experience profound growth and redemption in their life story. If you’re considering therapy, I invite you to take this important step towards healing. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and support you on your journey to a more fulfilling and resilient life. Your well-being matters, and I’m here to help you navigate this path.
