Lenn Spurlock
Counseling, Intern
Hi! My name is Lenn! I am a current master’s student at Capella University, and I cannot wait to be able to serve you and/or your kiddos! I am passionate about helping others feel heard, empowered, safe, and understood. My therapy approach is integrated, meaning I combine my favorite parts of different theories where they fit. Those theories are child/person centered, Adlerian Play, and Cognitive Behavioral therapies! I believe people grow best when they feel safe and accepted, free to let out all their deepest thoughts and feelings. Once they feel safe with you, they are more receptive to exploring their self view, world views and maladaptive behaviors, and have the trust in you to be able to guide them to creating more positive thoughts and behaviors! I believe that our main goals in life are love, social acceptance, self-acceptance, and safety/security. When one of these is missing, or perceived as missing, that is when problems arise.
I am most passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, navigating trauma, and anger. I believe that providing guidance and intervention from a young age sets us up for thriving as adults!
