Aleyda Sanchez, LPC-MHSP

Professional Mental Health Counselor

I received my Master’s in Counseling at Tennessee State University. I have worked for over 12 years in non-profit organizations and have been fortunate to work with all different cultures, socio-economic status, and understand the communities’ barriers that individuals and families face.

My interest in the mental health field is to focus on prevention, program development, and cultural sensitive therapy. For the last 2 ½ years I have been doing private practice and love what I do. I do individual counseling, couples therapy, and family counseling. I believe my job is to teach you the tools that best work for you, so that you can apply them to your daily life.

I always try to use different ways to engage each person in order to be able to explore different areas in their lives. It has been really important for me to provide a safe place in which you can feel welcome. I approach each client and couple with respect, an open heart and mind. Together we will develop goals you want to reach and create a plan on how to get there. I look forward to meeting you.

I have experience with working with the following: Anxiety, Depression, Domestic Abuse, Domestic Violence, cultural adjustment disorders, Self Esteem, co-dependency, and anger management skills, assisting families who are in the process of re-unification, having family conflict, building parenting skills, and assist them with reconstructing family dynamics.

Couple’s therapy is a new skill that I have been building and have been fortunate to be able to work with couples who are in transition to rebuild their marriage, learn new tools to enhance their marriage, and at times assist them with better ways to co-parent after a divorce.  In addition I am able to do couple’s therapy to assist with cultural differences due to language barriers, miscommunication, and adjustment to moving to the USA from foreign countries. I am able to assist in both English and Spanish which has been a great tool when one person’s native language is Spanish and it allows he/she to be able to talk about his/her feelings openly.

Currently accepting the following insurance: Aetna, Anthem, Cigna/Evernorth, Optum, TNBCBS, United Health, and some EAP plans including Compsych, Health Advocacy, Lyra, Mutual of Omaha, as well as private pay
