Karla Coetzee

Counseling Intern

Karla believes that a great counselor listens to understand, creates a safe space, makes one feel comfortable, and walks with their clients through the good and bad. Each person knows their struggles, ranging in different levels of anxiety, addiction, recovery, depression, anger, conflict, trauma, or stress. It would be her privilege to walk alongside her clients, explore tools that work best for them, and together develop and achieve the goals they want to reach.

Life can be hard and overwhelming at times. Several years ago, she leaped and said “yes” to seeing a counselor. She realized she couldn’t do it alone. Counseling positively impacted her confidence and social life, and it helped her find hope. This experience encouraged her to complete an undergraduate degree in Psychology at AUSB in California. She is in her final year of a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Belmont University.

Karla enjoys working with individuals of all ages as well as couples. She looks forward to meeting new clients!

At Central Care Counseling, our mission is to provide accessible, quality mental health services to the community while supporting the development of future clinicians. To ensure that everyone in our community can receive the care they need, all of our interns will offer services at a reduced rate of $30.00, under the supervision of our clinical director, Aleyda Sanchez, LPC/MHSP. By choosing to see an intern, you are not only receiving valuable mental health support, but you are also helping students complete their educational requirements and grow into successful clinicians. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier community.
